bangalore comedk exam 2016 Engineering

The State of Karnataka being headquarter of lot of big IT companies, the colleges in the state has easy access and interaction with the IT industry so are able to provide great placement to their students. There are more than 200 private engineering colleges which are member of COMEDK across the state of Karnataka offers various courses in engineering.


COMEDK UGET 2016 - COMEDK UGET is “ Under Graduate Entrance Test” that is conducted annually by COMEDK and floated by the Associations of Medical, Dental and Engineering private colleges for merit determination of students seeking admission to member institutions. The exam has been conducted on May 8, 2016 in computer based mode across the country. Presently, there are 181 engineering colleges in Karnataka that are affiliated to COMEDK and offer admissions to almost 20,000 seats.  The provisional and final answer keys will be available from May 11 and 26, 2016 respectively. The result will be declared on May 28, 2016.

COMED-K UGET 2016 Exam & Result Date

For the academic year 2016 - 17, COMEDK will conduct Under Graduate Entrance Test 2016 (UGET - 2016) for admission to undergraduate medical, dental and engineering courses on Sunday the 08/05/2016.
For the first time COMEDK UGET 2016 entrance exam will be an online computer based test and will be held at centers across the country to facilitate the students to take their exam closer to their homes and to minimize the cost of travel and other logistics.

Conducting Institute: Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK)

COMEDK UGET 2016 Eligibility Criteria: COMEDK had announced the guidelines related to Eligibility Criteria of COMEDK UGET 2016. In the meantime, candidates can check below the criteria-
  • Engineering:
    1. Students are required to have passed 10+2 or 2nd PUC from any recognized university or Board in the country.
    2. They are required to have obtained a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in their class 12th or 2nd PUC exam. Candidates must have passed these subjects individually.
    3. Aspirants must have studied Physics, Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject along with any one of the following optional subjects - Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology or any other technical vocational courses.
    4. Candidates are required to have studied English as a subject in the qualifying exam.
Note: There are no lateral entry admissions, so diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test.
  • Architecture:
    1. Students are required to have passed 10+2 or 2nd PUC from any recognized university or Board in the country with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government.
    2. Candidates must have scored at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka).
    3. There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course. The candidates should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture and score a minimum of 80 marks out of 200 (for both general and category candidates)
    4. Candidates seeking admission to B. Arch course shall submit separate application.
